Alsatian Bow is women's native headdress of Alsace Lorraine consisting of an enormous bow of taffeta rivvon placed with the knot of top of head, the loops rising like tow wings and then falling almost to shoulders with longer ends falling down back. Origingally a small bow, later in colors to indicate religous faith of wearer Protestants, black; Catholics, bright colors, especially red and plaids; and Hebrews, lavender.
